The background:
I write fiction under the name s.a. cavanaugh. The exact
reason is really too long to get into, but, I will say it
has to do with a long-standing promise to a great friend.
If you are super curious, rent the movie "Fletch,"
it may give you some insight to the tale.
Anyway, in this section you will find plays, screenplays,
short stories, and poetry by s.a. cavanaugh. I can't speak
directly for the author, but if you have any questions regarding
the works, you can email me at and I will pass on the comments.
The plays:
Reflecting Sunlight [PDF
version]- Sept. 11, 2001 was a tragic day for those in
lower Manhattan. People died, people ran for their lives.
The tragedy's ripples, however, spread throughout New York
city and the world. This play deals with one New York office
workers experience on Sept. 11, 2001. It mixes real events
with some fantasy, which helps tell the surreal tale of being
a victim of a terrorist attack, even in Midtown. The play
incorporates "IM" or Instant Messenger transcripts
from that fateful day, which "today's theater public
is ready for being a part of traditional theater," the
author says.
A Moment of Time [PDF
version]- Writing isn't easy. And this full three-act
play shows how often times a writer can lose himself in the
piece. Wrought with social and personal issues, "Moment"
weaves rhythm with blues, song with silence, and anger with
love to show how a perspective of reality can be just that,
perspective.
